Merry Christmas everyone! Forget the Night Before Christmas. Here's a Calvin and Hobbes Christmas Poem which was MY favorite as a child (and still is), so enjoy this beautiful poem.
Welcome to my...
Calvin and Hobbes
page
Just so that I don't get into trouble with Universal Press Syndicate, all Calvin and Hobbes related images in these pages are Copyright © Bill Watterson. I did not do any of the original genius work. This is just a measly little fan page expressing my enjoyment of this strip.
Now with that out of the way, I can go further on to my life long obsession with this comic strip.
Calvin is a self absorbed six year old boy who philosophizes strong (and weak) ideas on the world and his existance, and gets himself into much mischief and trouble.
Hobbes is Calvin's stuffed tiger to the outside world, but to Calvin, he is very much alive, just as lively as Calvins wild imagination. He is the reflection of Calvin's thoughts, often the source of morals that Calvin, himself, is resistant to.

The strip ran for ten years, starting from November 18, 1985 to December 31, 1995.

I've been reading Calving and Hobbes since I was 5 years old. ;-)

Calvin and Hobbes have always been there for me at times of my insanities (and sanities), through my good and bad times, and they always made me think in ways I wouldn't if it weren't for them, forming my own ideas. They were my best friends through my childhood and my teenage years. Needless to say, they are still my best friends, although I finally have friends of the human species as well...

I had a childhood quite similar to Calvin's. I grew up in a suburban setting with the woods right in back of my house behind my yard. At the time my parents were together, my father went to work everyday, and Mom stayed at home to cook gruesome meals. Calvin has no exaggeration of my fussy eating habits. Although I had siblings, something that Calvin lacked, they were much older than I, so they both moved out by the time I was two so I was much like an only child. I had an imaginary friend living in my head, although I didn't have something material that I dragged around like Calvin did Hobbes. My personality is/was very similar and yet different in many ways. Like Calvin, I would take walks out into the woods (or go sledding) and I would think about my existence and the world around me. Unlike him, I rather enjoyed school (though I never had patience for homework) and I was more obedient.
